Great turn out for Natalie Bennett visit

February 25, 2019

Thank you to everyone who came along to meet former Green Party leader, Natalie Bennett, and our Hythe district council election candidates on Saturday. It was a lovely gathering, with a lot of people dropping in to chat about a wide range of issues during the morning.

Natalie gave an inspiring talk about environmental protest, the need for a fairer democracy, the surge in support for the Green Party as so many people despair of the two main traditional parties, and she also touched on some local issues, such as Prince’s Parade. She then answered questions from the audience.

Our candidates for the Hythe and Hythe Rural seats – John Wing, Georgina Treloar, Lesley Whybrow (left) and Jim Martin – were kept busy, talking to residents about our policies, local issues and how people can support our campaign ahead of 2nd May.

Martin Whybrow, our Kent County Councillor, says: “It was fabulous to have Natalie with us and shows, once again, the great support we have from the national Green Party.” Others to have visited previously include co-leader, Jonathan Bartley, and deputy leader, Amelia Womack, with the latter joining us again on 20th April for one of our forthcoming action days.
